Middle East Children's Alliance presents: Ali Abunimah: How We can Complete the Gaza Freedom March Sunday, February 28, 7:00pm-9:30pm, Berkeley MORE INFO: http://www.mecaforpeace.org Ali Abunimah is co-founder of the Electronic Intifada and author of "One Country: A Bold Proposal to End the Israeli-Palestinian Impasse." Back in the bay area by popular demand, Abunimah just participated in the Gaza Freedom March, in Cairo, Egypt, along with 1400 others -- one of the largest international solidarity actions ever. The aim of the march was to draw attention to the one-year anniversary of the Israeli government's assault on Gaza, which killed 1400 Palestinians, and to call for ending the siege of Gaza which is leaving Gazans with little food, contaminated water, and no supplies to rebuild their homes. Abunimah's talk will be followed by a Q and A. The event is wheelchair accessible and ASL interpreted. There is plenty of free parking, and the North Berkeley BART is a 10-minute walk away. Tickets at www.mecaforpeace.org or at the door; $15 tickets also available at the following bookstores: (East Bay) Diesel, Pegasus/Shattuck, Pegasus/Solano, Walden Pond; (San Francisco) Modern Times. Note: $8 Student tickets are only available directly from the Middle East Children's Alliance (events@mecaforpeace.org, 510-548-0542) or at the door. This event is a benefit for children in Gaza. Since 1988 we have raised $12 million for the children in this region, along with establishing projects for their well-being. We also organize peace delegations there. In the US we advocate for policies that equally respect all the peoples of the region.
