Part of a worldwide effort to link workers with organic farmers, promote an educational exchange, and build a global community conscious of ecological farming practices. WWOOF produces an annual directory of organic farmers (of any size, style, or situation) in the United States who are willing to host volunteers on their land. Volunteers work half days in exchange for food and a place to stay. Farm stays are at least two days and can be extended for as long as the WWOOFer and host agree. A great hookup for earth-minded travelers who don't want to be tourists.
