A film collective founded in the fall of 2005 whose mission is capturing important contemporary struggles for social justice. Its projects have included documenting labor struggles both locally as well as in Latin America, the resistance of New Orleans residents to corporate restructuring, and illustrating the effects of plant closures on communities and laid-off employees. Media Insurgente strives to fuse the dynamism of journalism with the power of activism.
