We emphasize education and open data/open source because ultimately, we want learners of any age to have access to and become comfortable with data, scientific processes, and mathematical representations of the world. Practicing and teaching scientific principles is critical for our wellbeing. By using data to address real-world problems, we hope communities can make scientific arguments that can fuel civic change. Our residency program aims to increase collaboration within and outside of our own community, inspiring project advancement and innovation.
