Works to erradicate housing discrimination and to promote understanding by tenants and landlords of their rights and responsibilities through outreach, investigation, mediation, education and enforcement of fair housing laws. Serves residents in Northern Alameda County and Contra Costa County. Also does referral to attorneys through a Lawyer Referral Service, tenant organizing and education for recipients of rental subsidies (Section 8 vouchers and projects), homeownership education, finanicial eduction, credit checks and counseling.
