Provides emergency assistance to people with mobility impairments in the City of Berkeley. People with physical disabilities can call our 24 hour hotline 365 days a year-- whenever a nonmedical emergency arises and their regular attendants or caregivers are not available to assist them. An on-call attendent will be dispatched within 30 minutes of intake. We also offer emergency transportation on weekdays. Vouchers are available when you register with Berkeley paratransit.
Currently we are piloting an on-demand ride program. Vouchers are available through Berkeley Paratransit at a discounted rate. Easy Does It Disability Assistance is also compiling a detailed database to assist disaster planning for disabled residents of Berkeley.
