A 24-member organization made up of of faith and community based non-profit affordable housing developers and advocate organizations seeking affordable housing and community development opportunities for homeless and low income San Franciscans. It's member organizations are located in Chinatown, the Tenderloin, South of Market, Mission, Bay View / Hunters Point, Bernal Heights and the Ingleside neighborhoods. They have, over the last 15 years developed and manage some 10,000 permanently affordable housing units including 2,400 single room occupancy hotels rooms. They employ some 1,000 residents in permanent jobs associated with the development, management and maintenance of the affordable housing. CCHO meets monthly on the last Wednesday of the month to plan common actions aimed at effecting public policy to expand affordable housing and needed services and employment opportunities for lower income San Franciscans.
