A sustainable community-focused project operating out of Post Carbon Institute’s San Francisco Bay Area office that is catalyzing a regional movement to transition the Bay Area away from over-reliance on fossil fuels. Government leaders, businesses, and civil society at-large are busily preparing for another 1906-style earthquake or levee breach, either of which would cause untold devastation throughout the Bay Area. Yet comparably little attention is being paid to the very real threat of escalating oil and natural gas prices – or major supply disruptions in the face of growing international conflict and competition over these increasingly scarce resources.
